For those of you that cannot live without my weekly “words of wisdom” and general insights into the modern world, I sincerely apologize for my absence.  For the remaining 99.9% of my followers: hey, what’s up?  It’s been awhile, right?!

I have had to take some time off from blogging because my life has been a bit hectic of late and I have not found the time to post.  For this, I am truly sorry, but I feel pretty confident you were all able to get by just fine without me.  To help you understand, let me give you a brief summary of the changes in my life of late, so you don’t think this was my casual way of breaking up with my vast internet following.

  1.  This lady here got herself a new jobby job.  Yes, after six years of employment with my previous company, I jumped ship, like that Italian cruise ship captain.  (Yes, I know…) ship_joke
I love my new job and the professional atmosphere.  I have felt very welcome from the second I walked into the door, and they really know how to take care of their staff.  The change has required some adjustments to my schedule and my free time has been a bit reduced due to the busy season requirements of the CPA world.  Thankfully that will all change in a couple weeks and I will be able to spend a little more time away from the office and doing all those things I love.
  1. I am trying to get my ass back in shape.  I was doing so well in the summer and fall last year, going to the gym at least three times a week, and supplementing in between, eating somewhat healthy, and trying to better my general ladylike physique.  Then I had surgery in January and totally fell off the wagon.  While still trying to eat “better”, I wasn’t doing anything physical unless it was chasing my kids around the house trying to snatch something out of their hands that they shouldn’t have, or cleaning my house (a definite work out in its own right, regardless of what so-called “experts” have said in spite of that.)  I have been motivating myself to get to the gym after work as much as possible, but I have also found my newest fitness obsession.  Barre.Barre
Barre is quite possibly the hardest workout I have EVER done.  EVER.  EVER.  EVER.  It combines concepts from ballet and pilates to provide a ridiculously hard, but low impact work out.  I am in serious pain throughout half of it, but the burn seems all worth it.    When I leave I can barely wait to go back, and unlike other classes I have taken in the past, not to name any names – Body Pump, I can actually move the next day.  I am sure there will be more on this topic in future posts.
  1. It’s FINALLY Spring and the weather is actually cooperating for the first time since it actually became Spring almost a month ago.  I am sure we can all agree that it is so much more fun to enjoy the nice weather than sit at our computers blogging about things a very limited audience will pay any attention to.  blog
We’ve been working hard on getting some trees in the yard and are gearing up for Riley’s first season of T-Ball.  I am so excited about T-Ball I literally can’t stand it!  Shame on me for saying this, but I am not a big fan of baseball, but having a child in the sport is going to change all that!  I am hoping that Riley really loves it and learns some valuable skills from the coaching as well.

Well, that’s that.  Nothing too exciting beyond a new career, a new obsession, and a new season.  I will try my hardest to post more often in the coming weeks.  So much stuff planned to share with the internet world!  Here’s some adorable pics of my boys I just had to share.  🙂

Until next time, with much internet loves!  Lexi
